In May, Mineração Serra Verde reinforced awareness about the importance of traffic safety, both within and outside the company. Strengthening the Global Movement “Yellow May” for reducing traffic accidents, various actions were carried out for employees and the surrounding community, mobilized by the company in partnership with the Minaçu Executive Traffic and Transportation Coordination (CETT), Military Police, and partner companies GPS, R&D, and Expresso Planalto.
We started the month by placing stickers on the entire fleet of vehicles of Mineração Serra Verde and partner companies, reminding everyone that traffic safety begins inside the vehicle. Employees received informational materials and participated in both in-person and online meetings that reinforced this principle.
With our neighboring community, we conducted a Blitz where we distributed educational pamphlets highlighting the 10 behaviors for safer driving and a keychain to remind everyone that we should be Partners for Safe Traffic. To conclude Yellow May, we held an awareness meeting attended by around 30 rural residents, during which Captain Farias of the Minaçu Military Police discussed some of the main traffic laws.
Our company also shared its traffic safety practices: Safety Engineer Fábio Reis presented the devices used by the company to the attendees, always focusing on the safety of our employees, partners, and local residents, who are users of the region’s roads. We practice and share safe behavior in our daily actions, which includes making traffic safer for everyone.
