We are committed to building strong relationships with our communities, creating opportunities for local workforce training and employment, and contributing to local procurement and investment opportunities.
A range of programs are in place to ensure that we deliver a positive economic impact to our communities. We conduct annual perception surveys among local communities and maintain strong community support through regular technical meetings, the sharing of up-to-date information about the project, and dedicated communication channels through which people can submit questions, concerns, requests, and complaints.
All reports and submissions are received free of charge and without any form of retaliation. Individuals may also communicate with the company anonymously and receive a response while their anonymity is fully protected.
We have a dedicated team focused on continuously strengthening dialogue and engagement with local communities. Initiatives such as the FalAção Program foster relationships with communities neighboring the project, as well as rural areas and districts of Minaçu, providing them with regular information and updates. FalAção also includes educational initiatives on road safety, water resource conservation, and wildfire prevention, carried out in partnership with the Fire Department and Military Police.
Comunidade em Movimento is an initiative that promotes health, sports, and recreation within the community in partnership with municipal health and sports departments. Now in its fifth edition, the program has brought together more than 250 people for vaccination, health assessments, and sports activities.
We maintain strategic partnerships with local government across several areas, including environmental initiatives. Through our Environmental Education Program, we promote environmental awareness and conduct annual campaigns focused on the prevention of leishmaniasis and dengue, as well as wildfire prevention, in cooperation with neighboring communities and local authorities. In recent years, initiatives under the program have reached more than 11,000 employees and community members.
We also provide professional training programs, including the free Maintenance Planning and Control course for residents of Minaçu, helping prepare local professionals for future workforce needs within the regional industry. We also maintain a Young Apprentice Program.
We have established ongoing partnerships to support the diversification of the local economy and promote the development of local suppliers. As part of our economic diversification efforts, the company provides rural technical assistance to more than 40 producers in the region. Through the same program, we also provide approximately 25 local businesses each year with training and resources designed to strengthen business management capabilities, including financial, tax, and sustainability management.
We have also implemented Projeto ELAS, an initiative designed to foster a more inclusive environment for women both within the company and in the broader community. Since 2023, the project has held 40 meetings involving more than 1,500 women. In addition, the Abrace Minaçu Program, our social responsibility initiative, contributes to efforts to prevent the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents and violence against women, while strengthening local protection networks and public policies.
