Serra Verde’s COO presents the company to the Vice President of Brazil, Mr. Geraldo Alckmin

The Vice President of Brazil, Minister of Industry and Commerce, and current Interim President, Geraldo Alckmin, received at the Planalto Palace, in Brasília, the President and COO of Serra Verde, Ricardo Grossi; the Manager of Institutional Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Serra Verde, Herta Torres; along with the Mayor of Minaçu, Carlos Leréia, and the Federal Deputy, Rubens Otoni; to obtain more information about the rare earth mining project that is expected to begin in December 2023.

During the meeting, the executives of Serra Verde Research and Mining (SVPM) highlighted the importance of the work to be carried out by the mining company for the country’s economy, especially regarding its contribution to energy transition, as it becomes the leading producer of rare earths in South America. The Interim President expressed interest in understanding the specifics and quality of the rare earth reserves that will be produced by Serra Verde, acknowledging the positive environmental and social aspects of responsible mining in communities with a mining tradition.At the end of the meeting, Geraldo Alckmin accepted Ricardo Grossi’s invitation to visit Serra Verde’s facilities in the first quarter of 2024. “Our goal is to become the most sustainable producer of rare earths in the world and to share the benefits of this advantage with our people, our community, and our customers to help accelerate towards a cleaner and greener future. We are grateful to have met with Vice President Alckmin and optimistic about the opportunities for the future. We look forward to welcoming you to our operations,” said Ricardo Grossi.
