Environment
We operate in a region of rich biodiversity, and we have established programs and policies to ensure responsible stewardship of the environment during the construction, operation, and eventual closure of the mine. We have several biodiversity programs in place which include:
- Programs for Flora Conservation and Monitoring
- Capture, Rescue and Rehabilitation of Fauna (Rescue & Support Team)
- Conservation and Monitoring of Fauna (winged, aquatic and terrestrial)
- Monitoring of Threatened Species
We actively manage biodiversity to increase protection and conservation of natural habitats and promote understanding of flora and fauna beyond the mine area. We comply with the requirements of the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management and do not produce any wet tailings.
